Heavy Metals and Microbial Activity in Alluvial Soils Affected by Different Land-Uses

چکیده
Soils must receive maximum protection to assure sustainable agriculture and quality food production. Heavy metals tend accumulate in the soil rather than decompose at a certain limit of their content, toxic consequences for living organisms occur. This research was conducted survey contamination status Cd, Cr, Ni, Pb microbial activity soils affected by long-term sugarcane monoculture Upper Egypt. The rise diacetate fluorescein hydrolysis (FDA) ranged from 86.25 201.25 mg kg-1 soil·h-1 fields, while increase under crop rotation fields showed higher significant values 207.25 266.67 soil·h-1. In this study, generally biomass enzymatic usually significantly monoculture. highest potential ecological risks were found irrigated monoculture, being moderate rotation. Under both farming systems, cadmium Cd observed be urgency pollutant with degree even though had lowest average concentration (Cd 27.03 kg-1) (10.46 view impacts these potentially elements (Cd), chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni) lead (Pb), on system public health, introduction new management practices are essential protect environment achieve future sustainability production

Status of heavy metals in agricultural soils as affected by different patterns of land use.
This study was conducted to determine status of heavy metals in agricultural soils under different patterns of land use. A total of 38, 40 and 45 soil samples for bare vegetable field, greenhouse vegetable field, and grain crop field were respectively taken from surface layer (0-20 cm) from selected experimental areas away from suburbs of ten counties (or districts or cities) in four provinces ...
متن کاملthe fractionation of some heavy metals in calcareous soils affected by land uses of central area of zanjan provine (northwest of iran)
introduction: heavy metals are found to be one of the major environmental hazardous contaminants, for human health, animal life, air quality and other components of environment. they can affect geochemical cycles and accumulate in animal tissues since physical processes are not able to remove them, so they are consistent in long term. the analysis of the total concentration of heavy metals in s...
متن کاملMicrobial Activity and Phosphorus Availability in A Subtropical Soil under Different Land Uses
Land use changes in the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) of south Florida may alter microbial activity and organic matter decomposition and ultimately influence the fate of P in soil. The objectives of this study were to determine effects of long-term cultivation and fertilization on microbial activity and P dynamics for contrasting land uses in the EAA. Soils (0-15 cm) under pasture for 100 ...
متن کاملSoil-Borne Microbial Functional Structure across Different Land Uses
Land use change alters the structure and composition of microbial communities. However, the links between environmental factors and microbial functions are not well understood. Here we interrogated the functional structure of soil microbial communities across different land uses. In a multivariate regression tree analysis of soil physicochemical properties and genes detected by functional micro...
